The child in the story from which Whit (mis) quoted may have been older than eight. Here is what Sister Lant's talk said,

"Another child was reading her scriptures on an airplane trip. The lady sitting next to her was so impressed -- first, that she could read that well, and second, with the content of what she was reading -- that she asked her about it. The child told her about the scriptures and their message. She bore her testimony that they were true. The woman was so amazed that she determined to find the Book of Mormon she had once been given and read it. She said, "If this child can read it, so can I.""

Thanks to Steve for putting together our sound - including the wonderful song, The Child I Am, by Brett Raymond, from Primarily For Grownups, Again!
